How Document Automation Lite for Outlook handles selected email attachments and license data.
Last updated: 2 June 2026
Purpose
Document Automation Lite for Outlook is designed to download file attachments from Outlook emails selected by the user as one ZIP file through the browser.
Data processed
To provide the service, the add-in and Steek-IT API may process:
- Microsoft tenant ID and user object ID for trial and subscription checks.
- Display name or user principal name if provided by Microsoft sign-in.
- Selected email identifiers, subject, and attachment metadata.
- Attachment content from the selected emails, temporarily, to create the ZIP file.
- Trial, subscription, payment, and support data needed to manage access to the service.
Attachment handling
Attachments are retrieved from Microsoft Graph for the emails selected by the user. The Steek-IT API creates the ZIP file in memory and returns it to the browser. Attachment contents are not intentionally stored permanently by Steek-IT as part of the normal ZIP download workflow.
License and trial records
Steek-IT stores license and trial records, including Microsoft tenant ID, user object ID, trial dates, license status, and subscription end date. These records are needed to provide the trial and subscription service.
Payment processing
If a subscription is purchased, payment processing may be handled by Mollie. Steek-IT may store payment status and license activation data.
Subprocessors and services
- Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Graph are used to authenticate the user and retrieve selected attachments.
- Steek-IT hosting and API infrastructure are used to create the ZIP file and manage trial and subscription status.
- Mollie may be used for payments.
